I started to do the design work on this model some twelve years ago. Back in 2011 I finished the design work and cut the first parts. This was a build of love and if it never flies I’m OK with that. It is constructed mainly of balsa and plywood. The blades are Obechi Wood of foam cores. The rotor span on this thing is something like 115”. I made one flight attempt back in the fall of 2012 but I could not get the rotor blades up to speed. I have made some change to it and believe I may now get the blades to rotate fast enough to leave the ground. I simply just need to get the courage up to attempt another flight. The models weighs around 16 pounds and is powered by a RimFire 160 Brushless motor. I originally had 2 4-cell 5 Amp Lipos powering the model but i may now step it up to 2 5-cell packs.
